“Society engineering”: an overview of ideas from sverige2.earth

Note:

  • Some of the content in this section is taken directly from our sister site, sverige2.earth.

The site sverige2.earth is a collection of online whitepapers, entirely influenced by two things:

  1. My previous studies on an MA in International Criminal Justice at Liverpool John Moores University UK, from which I graduated in 2017. You can download my MA dissertation and other documents from that time from the following webpage:

  2. My time spent in Stockholm Sweden during 2023, for as long as the restrictions of my British passport reasonably allowed. This has been a transformative experience for me in many ways.

For the above two reasons, and because of my social-democratic upbringing in the UK during the late 1960s and 1970s, I have been interested not in social engineering as we traditionally understand it, but in what I have begun to term “society engineering”.

One outcome of this idea is very specific and can be found in two parts now.

The first half was developed, probably viscerally, as a result of Hamas and its recent vicious attack on all the peoples in the region in question, with the clear intention of provoking a massive counter-response in order, amongst other things, to twist in the most premeditated and evil manner the narrative of the world’s historical oppression of Jewish peoples.

The essay that came out of this can be downloaded here:

The second idea, scoped earlier in the summer of 2023, whilst I was in Stockholm, describes why we might wish to deliver on #BuildingtheFEARlessCITIZEN.

The slide-deck in question, first produced in three parts, is now available in a macro-version here:

Finally, the online whitepaper on GB 2 Earth which backgrounds both of these slide-decks, can be found here:

The slide-deck which follows below is actually three. The first acts as a kind of survey of how we see ourselves in society.

The second two introduce the idea of replacing criminal justice with what I have begun to call a natural justice: in this definition of the term, I argue that doing so would encourage us to focus much more on the justice and the victim and much less on the crime and the criminal.

Remembering always, of course, that some criminals are also victims of the circumstances that lead them to enter criminal-justice systems.
